December Record Snowfall in Jackson Hole

A Deepcember to Remember in Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is thrilled to report 264 inches of total snowfall season to date in Rendezvous Bowl and snow depths of 86 inches, making this one of DEEPest Decembers in 51 years!  Upper mountain snow depths are 147% of normal.  Snowfall for December 2016 in Rendezvous Bowl totaled almost 13 feet and was 192% normal marking this December as the second snowiest in the resort’s history only behind December 1996. It’s been one powder day after another. How many locals skipped work for the untracked turns? A lot. Visitors received exactly what they came for: Champagne powder and uncrowded slopes. The exceptional ski conditions were enjoyed by more skiers and riders than any other holiday period at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

“We’re pleased we could offer some of the best snow conditions in the country this holiday season - The quaility of terrain open, combined with our modern lift infastructure really allowed guests to move about the mountain without feeling too crowded,” stated JHMR President Jerry Blann. It was one of the most giving of all Decembers in over 50 years - just inches after inches continuing to fall. And, it’s not over yet. These cold temps are keeping the snow nice and light and more snow is in the forecast. So don't miss out on some of the best snowfall in ski history.
