Dirt Road Band

The Dirt Road band travels musical backroads from Tennessee & Louisiana, to Texas & the Gulf Coast, on up to the Rockies with stops on both coasts for good measure. They visit regions of th blues, country, a touch of bluegrass, American roots, & spend some time in New Orleans as well. Greg Creamer is th main navigator on guitar/lead vocals with Ted Wells on pedal steel/banjo/backing vocals, Ben Winship on bass/vocals and Ed Domer on drums/timpani/tablas. If you are in Jackson Hole or th Tetons and have seen live music, you have likely heard some or all of these musicians, as each plays in numerous bands. You may have seen Greg playing in th Chanman Roots Band (reggae), the Boondocks (Americana), or sitting in with the Jackson 6 (New Orleans jazz), the Mystery Machine (roots), th Wille Waldman Project (improv), TramJam (extreme outdoor), Papa Chan (jazz), or in a duo form on the acoustic path. He has played with members of Widespread Panic and Blues Traveler as well as opened for the likes of David Lindley, Reckless Kelly, the Itals, Motet, & the Subdudes, among many others. After earning a BFA in Creative Writing in Vermont, Greg heeded th call to bigger mountains & headed west. He moved to th Tetons in 1992 and has been in Teton Valley Idaho since. He has played in local and regional touring bands on both acoustic and electric guitar, and even won a really nice Gibson acoustic guitar in a Bluegrass flat-picking contest back in 2001. Presently, he operates a working recording studio in Driggs which offers recording, mixing, and production. He teaches clinics in, & runs live sound for th renowned Targhee Music Camp hosting some of th greatest players & teachers in Acoustic Music today, including numerous Grammy winners. Greg hosts a weekly acoustic duo gig at Warbirds Cafe in th summer and winter seasons and has started two successful and ongoing music series in Driggs.
