Sit Down, Get Down
Time: 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
We are excited to announce that we have brought live music back to the Silver Dollar Showroom with our "Sit Down Get Down" series. We are also proud to be putting these hard working musicians back to work. Our dance floor is closed but that doesn't mean you can't dance in your seat. No cover!
The Powell Brothers are Country/Americana recording artists from Houston, Texas.
The group is fronted by brothers Taylor Powell and Blake Powell. This past February, The Powell Brothers released “Leave On The Light,” their first full length CD. The new music combines elements of folk-rock, rootsy soul and country. The Houston-based band recorded “Leave On The Light” during the aftermath and devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Perseverance, resilience and life on the road provide the backdrop for this new collection of songs that staggers artfully between timeless arrangements and sharp songcraft showcasing a defiant, evolving band on the rise.
The Powell Brothers’ music really comes to life in their high energy live show. The group defines the term “road warriors,” burning up U.S. highways with an average of 150 shows per year. The 2019 tour schedule takes the group to Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana and Wisconsin. Notable tour dates include June 5th at The Tin Roof (Nashville, TN) for the CMA Kick-Off Party, July 6th at Luckenbach (Fredericksburg, TX) with Pat Green & Cory Morrow, August 1st at the Dejoria Center (Park City, UT), and September 28th at the Merchants & Music Festival (Fort Thomas, KY).
The Powell Brothers have been selected to support numerous top national acts, including sharing the stage with names like Lee Brice, Billy Currington, Josh Turner, Gary Allan, Granger Smith, Eli Young Band, Montgomery Gentry, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd, Suzy Bogguss, The Bellamy Brothers, Pat Green, Cody Johnson, Randy Rogers Band, Jack Ingram and many more.
